About Me:

This is my 22st year in education. Before joining the team at Gustine ISD, I had the
privilege of serving in various roles throughout my career, including high school
principal, middle school assistant principal, athletic director, teacher, coach, and
ultimately, superintendent.

I am a proud graduate of Rising Star High School, class of 1987, and hold a Bachelors
degree from Tarleton State University, as well as a Master of Education from Lamar
University.

I firmly believe that schools bear both the responsibility and the privilege of equipping
students with essential skills and knowledge. Beyond academics, they have a crucial
role in fostering self-worth and confidence, ensuring students are prepared to enter the
world after graduation with the resilience and determination necessary for success.

I grew up in a small town, and my wife, Mary, and I have spent our careers in small
school districts. As a father of three (Faith, Beau, and Kate), it has always been
important to us that our children grow up in a community where they are an integral part
of a close-knit environment. We want them to experience the strong values, high
expectations, and supportive atmosphere that small schools offer, knowing it helps
shape students into compassionate, responsible individuals who are ready to contribute
positively to the world.

As your superintendent, my primary goal is to support and enhance our district’s
strengths while addressing areas for growth. I believe every student possesses unique
gifts and abilities that have inherent value, and it is our responsibility to nurture these
qualities to their fullest potential.

I am deeply honored to join the Gustine ISD family as Superintendent of Schools. As a
lifelong educator, I am committed to fostering positive learning environments and
ensuring strong academic outcomes for our students. My family and I are excited to
make Gustine our new home, and we look forward to building lasting relationships with
the students, staff, and community. Go Tigers!
